Teething, and Other Challenges

We had a rough week.  Maya, in the process of cutting her top two front teeth, caught two common, fever- and rash-inducing childhood illnesses (roseola and coxsackie).  And wouldn't you know, it was our first full week back at school with kids.  Plus, daycare was closed on Friday.  When it rains it pours.  Thanks, Auntie Kate, for all your babysitting help this week!  You were a life-saver.

Here's some pics from Maya was on the mend and ready to play again.

Hey look, a dog...

...they eat those in some countries, right?

Hawaii 5-0

We were lucky to score a visit with Lester, Ako and Jasmine when they dropped into the Hub for a college tour.  You can't pass up a visit from Hawaiian visitors, even on the first day of school.

Learning to Crawl

Maya is desperate to move, mainly to chase Ramona.  She's getting better at creeping, but it's not crawling for real just yet.

Exhausted from all that hard work.

Nana's Big Visit

Panda's Playcare was closed for summer vacation on our first week back to school, so Nana came for an extended visit to play with Maya while Mommy and Daddy were back to the grindstone.

Maya has become quite the eater and drinker.  Here, she shows off the new skills she practiced with Nana.

Long Beach Island: Sand and Water

Bathing beauties.

Long Beach Island: Indoor Fun

During the last week of July, we took our traditional trip to LBI, this time, with babies in tow.

Maya watches as Louise shows her how to teethe, for real.

Maya discovered that her favorite food is watermelon.

Eating, as usual.
