Hurricane

Maya fascinated by the OB/GYN themed mug - she loved the straw's cap.
That's Hurricane Sandy out the window.

Maya reading one of her gifts from Charlotte - a Dora book about being a big sister - with Momma as Grandmom and Charlotte look on.

First Visitors

Kate and Grandmom were in charge of Maya during labor and were her first visitors.
Somehow, we don't have a great picture of Grandmom with Charlotte to post yet.
We'll rectify that soon.

Sisters

The sisters meet for the first time in Recovery.  Maya is thrilled.  Charlotte is asleep.

Welcome Charlotte Jane!

The blog gets a new name, URL and a second protagonist.

On Sunday October 28th at 3:51 pm, Charlotte Jane Friedmann joined the party.

She weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

Biggest shocker is her strawberry blond hair.  So far, the consensus is that she looks like Aunt Merry.

Charlotte is named for the arachnid namesake of E.B. White's book, and Jane Austen.  Maya's name is similarly literary.  She's named after Maya Angelou and Jo March from Little Women.

I'm actually smiling under that mask...

Opa and Kat's Wedding

Maya and her twin sister before the rehearsal dinner.
Ready to walk down the aisle with Kathleen.
Methodically, earnestly and carefully doing her job...must be our kid.
That's Harold Crocker, Evelyn and Tante Elsie in the background.

Fall Fun

Sorting beans for one of Daddy's lessons on probability.
 Working on a preppy look.
Pink PJs and a tutu - a perfect Sunday morning outfit.
Practicing for her new baby sister.
Can't wait to be the big sister.

First Day of Tiny Tots

The Artiste

Maya hard at work on a painting...
...in her birthday suit.

End of The Summer

End of the summer into fall has been a whirlwind of excitement...
Maya's new bed in her new bedroom.
Reading to baby Ari.  Maya is looking forward to being a big sister.
Maya created a "bus" out of two hangers, some wooden blocks and a piece of cardboard packaging.
 After a bath.
Grandmom brought these Matryoshka doll stickers back from her cruise to Russia.
Maya is celebrating her Russian heritage in style.
Maya sure does fill a niche in this family!
